Writing in the Galleries with the Art Institute of Chicago

Head to the Art Institute of Chicago for a special installment of the museum’s Writing in the Galleries series. This drop-in friendly writing program invites participants to draw inspiration from the galleries and artworks with distinctive Chicago connections. Come ready to write and decide what Chicago stories you will tell!

Writing in the Galleries is a recurring program series at the Art Institute of Chicago that invites visitors of any experience level to engage in creative writing during their visit to the museum. These programs are free with admission. Participants are encouraged to bring your favorite notebook and pencil. Writing materials will be provided for those who need them, and gallery stools are provided during each session. Visit artic.edu/events for info about upcoming programs.

Note: General admission at the Art Institute will be free for all IL residents on Thursday evenings throughout the summer.
