Write at CPL: Non-Chronological Structures in Memoir
A writing workshop at the Austin branch of the Chicago Public Library, part of the Write at CPL series presented with Story Studio. Led by PEN/America Award winner and Chicago-based memoirist David Stuart MacLean, this Wednesday evening session (October 14, 6:00–7:30 PM) explores non-chronological structures in memoir — specifically associative structure, a technique more common to poetry that writers like Maggie Nelson and Carmen Maria Machado have adapted for prose. The workshop is hands-on: participants will experiment with these structures and consider what freedom they offer memoir writing. Registration is required due to limited space.
