Walking History: Exploring Chicago Parks at Humboldt

A monthly walking series from Equiticity uses Chicago parks as a lens for the nation’s 250th birthday, with six walks designed to surface how these public spaces have shaped — and been shaped by — American history. The September walk takes place at Humboldt Park on Sunday morning, September 27, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. Part of the organization’s broader Community Mobility Rituals, the series frames the strolls as a way to build social cohesion in neighborhoods that have been historically marginalized, with each route aimed at sparking conversation about whose stories get told in public land.
