Walking History: Exploring Chicago Parks at Garfield

Equiticity presents Walking History: Exploring Chicago Parks, a series of six monthly walks, as part of Equiticity’s 2026 Community Mobility Rituals – regularly scheduled mobility events promoting social cohesion and collective trust in marginalized neighborhoods. Designed to help mark the United States’ 250th birthday, Walking History: Exploring Chicago Parks will cultivate understanding of how Chicago Park District parks tell our nation’s and our city’s stories and how some parks actually helped shape that history.
