Viva la Vida: Painting with Paper

For adults ages 55 and up, this free workshop at the National Museum of Mexican Art pairs a guided gallery visit with a hands-on art-making session. The September 24 program, held on a Thursday, focuses on the exhibition “Xochicago: Floating Gardens of the Chicago River and México”; afterward, participants use bleeding tissue paper — which releases color when wet — to produce abstract, watercolor-like designs. No art experience necessary, and materials are provided.
