A local TreeKeeper leads this South Shore tree walk on Thursday, August 20, from 5:00 to 7:30 PM, covering how to identify common Chicago species and understand their evolutionary relationships and ecological roles. The walk also explains why a mix of tree species keeps the urban forest more resilient. Openlands, which trains volunteer urban forest stewards, supports the programming.
