Tree Walk: South Shore's Stories of Trees

A local TreeKeeper leads this guided walk through South Shore, teaching participants how to identify common Chicago trees and understand their relationships to one another and the broader urban ecosystem. The conversation covers tree identification basics, evolutionary lineages, and why a diverse mix of species keeps the city's canopy resilient. The walk takes place Thursday, August 13, from 5:00 to 7:30 PM, and is led by a volunteer from Openlands' TreeKeeper program. Sign language interpretation is available with at least 14 business days' notice.
