Tree Lighting and Cultural Festival

The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry opens its holiday season with a day-long festival on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, centered on the lighting of the museum's four-story Grand Tree. The event also marks the debut of the "Christmas Around the World and Holiday of Lights" exhibit, featuring more than 50 trees decorated to represent different countries alongside displays for Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, and other seasonal celebrations of light. Santa Larry, recognized as the first Black Santa at the Mall of America, will help flip the switch on the Grand Tree. Community partners join Griffin MSI’s team for this all-day kickoff.
