Tortilla Art: Food, Tales and Mesoamerican Traditions
Kids 6 to 13 learn to make tortillas from scratch in this hands-on workshop, using masa harina and several colors of masa to craft their own designs. They'll have the option to add cheese while the tortillas cook, then eat the results — a staple food of Mesoamerican societies for thousands of years. The class meets at Jefferson Park on Saturday, October 17, from 11 AM to noon. Registration closes 24 hours before the event, and a parent or guardian's email address is required to sign up.
