Join Legler Maker Lab staff and the Summer Maker-in-Residence, Josie, for this workshop, where participants will dive into the world of linocut printmaking. First, we will learn the basics of designing and carving a linocut block, how to use the tools, materials, and various tips and tricks to achieve the best print. We will then explore how to draw inspiration from our surroundings, envision our world through linocut, and how we can use the art of linocut to meditate on our curiosities.

Participants are encouraged to come with some loose ideas and inspirations to explore in this workshop. We will be working with messy inks. It is recommended to wear clothes that can get stained. No prior experience necessary. All materials will be provided. This course is not recommended for children. Each participant will leave with an 8x10 or 10x8 linocut block and print of their making.
