The Universe, Black Chicago Aviators and Astronauts

Using an Afrofuturistic lens, this multimedia presentation traces Black Chicago’s role as a capital of Black aviation and the connection to space travel in Black music. It highlights how that legacy produced pilots and some of the nation’s first Black astronauts. The talk takes place Thursday, October 29, from 6 to 7 PM at Albany Park, presented as part of the Chicago Public Library’s Renaissance Project. Free and open to the public.
