The Heart of the Story at Fuller

The Heart of the Story brings Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre’s professional Dance Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra to Fuller Park on Friday evening, July 31, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. The company blends performance with conversation, offering context and inviting feedback alongside interactive activities, all in service of exploring culture, race, and identity through dance. The program also features a special guest set from the Douglass Park Performing Company, whose twelve-member ensemble performs “He Turned It,” choreographed by Elaine McLaurin — a piece about standing up for what’s right. Expect roughly 45 to 60 minutes of movement and music that leans into the complexity of the human experience, delivered with the company’s signature welcoming spirit.
