Join a local TreeKeeper to learn about how trees benefit Chicago while also exploring the lack of tree equity in the city. We'll share how addressing it would address disparities in the urban heat island effect and basement flooding, with specific examples by neighborhood. We'll also discuss Chicago's latest green infrastructure plan and the role trees can play in supporting it, as well as the role nature-based solutions can play in combating climate change.

Openlands TreeKeepers are a group of volunteer urban forest stewards that advocate for the overall health and care of trees in the Chicago Region. The Urban Forestry Programming at Sulzer Library is proudly supported and funded by Openlands .
