Tabla Tarang & Tabla Performance with Sandip Burman

Sandip Burman, a tabla player and composer who has performed internationally and appears on Grammy-winning recordings, brings a live set of tabla tarang and tabla to Edgewater on Tuesday, August 25, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. The program, held in partnership with the World Music Foundation and supported by the Illinois Arts Council, offers a chance to hear the tabla tarang — melody played on tuned drums — alongside straight tabla work. Burman’s background spans Indian classical, jazz, and Western classical contexts, making this a focused but open-minded performance. Registration is required.
