Sugar Skull Plushie Dia de los Muertos Workshop at Marquette
Artist William Estrada leads a hands-on workshop at Marquette Park on Friday, October 30, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, blending the history of Día de los Muertos traditions with a practical sewing project. Participants learn about the evolution of the sugar skull and the figure of La Catrina before designing and stitching their own fabric plushie. The session emphasizes personal expression, and everyone takes home a finished piece. Materials are limited and distributed first-come, first-served. This workshop is one of several leading up to a larger Día de los Muertos celebration on October 24.
