South Side Sisters, Sounds, and Stories at Kennicott

South Side Sisters, Sounds, and Stories returns to Kennicott Park for an afternoon celebrating Black women composers across the African diaspora, with live music and storytelling linking Africa, Chicago's South Side, and the Caribbean. Presented by Àkójọpọ̀ as part of A Night Out in the Parks, this year's program expands on last year's focus to honor musical legacies through performance and community conversation. It takes place Saturday, July 25, from 4:00 to 5:30 PM — a thoughtful, low-key option for a summer evening in the neighborhood.
