Socialism: What It Is, What It Is Not
A Saturday-morning lecture-and-discussion session that tries to cut through the election-season noise around the word “socialism.” Professor emeritus Gerhard Schutte leads a short introduction and then opens the floor for a conversation about socialism and capitalism in their different forms, aiming for clarity rather than slogans. The event runs from 10 to 11 AM on October 17 at the Edgewater branch, co-hosted by Edgewater Village Chicago and the library. Free, but registration is required.
