Sculpt Like Hunt and Perkins: A Creative Sculpting Workshop
This creative sculpting workshop at McKinley Park highlights the work of Black Chicago sculptors Richard Hunt and Marion Perkins, inviting participants to make their own mixed-media pieces. Led by artist Joy Joshua, the session on Monday, November 16, from 5:45 to 7:15 PM, uses clay, wire, cardboard, foil, and paint to explore modular forms, figurative abstraction, and community-inspired designs. Hunt, a Chicago-born artist with 160 public sculpture commissions across 24 states, serves as the central inspiration, and the workshop is part of the Chicago Public Library’s Renaissance Project. Registration is active; sign language interpretation and other accessibility accommodations are available with at least 14 business days’ notice.
