The New York Times science desk brings its coverage of the cosmos to the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry for a Sunday afternoon conversation about the expanding universe. Space and physics reporter Katrina Miller talks with University of Chicago astronomer Dr. Wendy Freedman about her research on the universe's expansion rate and what it means for our understanding of the Big Bang, dark energy, and the ultimate fate of everything. Times photo editor Matt McCann also presents on the craft of visualizing scientific discovery, and museum president Dr. Chevy Humphrey will offer remarks. The program runs Sunday, November 1, from 1 to 2 PM, and is free with general admission.
