REMNANTS 2026 at Winnemac

Wender Collective's REMNANTS turns Winnemac Park into a stage for an encounter with Chicago's pre-settlement landscape. Giant puppets representing prairies, wetlands, savannas, and woodlands lead audiences through the park as "spirits of the place," converging on a central performance at dusk. The piece weaves ecology and history into a site-specific spectacle that doesn't shy away from grief and loss, but leaves room for renewal. Free native plants and educational materials are available at the performance, which takes place Friday, August 21, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
