Reel Injun Film Screening with Casey Brown
A screening of the documentary *Reel Injun* at Sulzer Regional on Wednesday, November 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, presented in observance of Native American Heritage Month. Cree filmmaker Neil Diamond’s 2009 film unpacks Hollywood’s long history of Native stereotypes — the savage, the mystic, the vanishing Indian — through interviews and clips featuring Clint Eastwood, Wes Studi, and others. The screening is followed by a discussion with Casey Brown (Ho-Chunk Nation, Bear Clan), a filmmaker and educator whose own work focuses on Ho-Chunk history and cultural preservation. English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing will be available. Free and open to all.
