Reading Came First Book Club

The Reading Came First book club, hosted by rapper, librarian, and Rapbrary founder Roy Kinsey, meets monthly at the Austin branch for conversations that connect literature to music, identity, and culture. Each session focuses on a work by a groundbreaking author — spanning fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and cultural criticism — with room to explore how storytelling and social change show up across art forms. The group meets Saturday, September 12, from 10 AM to noon. All readers, whether regulars or newcomers, are welcome; registration is active.
