Polish Chicago Tour

A walking tour exploring the history of Chicago’s “Polish Downtown,” where West Town, Wicker Park, and Bucktown once served as the hub of American Polonia. Author and MWRD Commissioner Dan Pogorzelski leads the route, pointing out connections to figures like pianist Ignace Paderewski, photographer Vivian Maier, and Nobel laureate Henryk Sienkiewicz. The tour takes place on Tuesday, October 6, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, starting in the Bucktown-Wicker Park area. Registration is required; sign up through the library’s event page.
