Poety Pop-up: Whale Songs

Eric Elshtain, the Field Museum's first poet in residence, hosts a weekly drop-in writing session around the museum's collection. On Thursday, September 10, from 10 AM to noon, visitors can find him at a typewriter station somewhere in the building, ready to help turn an encounter with a fossil or an exhibition into a poem. No experience with poetry is required, and the event is included with general admission — a thoughtful way to slow down and look closer at the museum, whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth.
