Poetry Pop-up: Typewriter Poets in the Field
Typewriter poets set up in the Field Museum for two hours on Thursday morning, October 1, from 10 AM to noon, offering a hands-on way to turn a museum visit into something personal. Eric Elshtain, the Field's first poet in residence, works from a typewriter station where visitors can encounter an object from the collection, tour an exhibition, then sit down to craft a poem inspired by what they saw. This is part of a weekly series that aims to change how regulars and first-timers alike experience the museum — no prior poetry experience needed. Included with admission.
