Open House: 125 Years of the Franke Reading Room

The Franke Reading Room turns 125 this year, and this open house offers a rare chance to explore the space beyond its usual role as the quiet heart of the museum's Research Center. Visitors can examine the room's distinctive architectural details and view staff-selected highlights from the Ryerson and Burnham Libraries and Art Institute Archives. The open house runs Saturday, October 17, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, and pairs naturally with Jill Bugajski's 2:00 lecture on the room's history in Fullerton Hall. Free, with no registration required.
