Meet Your Neighborhood Trees

A TreeKeeper from Openlands leads a guided walk through Welles Park on Tuesday evening, September 8, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, showing participants how to identify several common Chicago street trees by bark, leaf shape, and other features. The session is a practical primer for anyone who wants to recognize what's growing in their neighborhood, led by one of the volunteer urban forest stewards who advocate for the region's tree health. The walk starts at Sulzer Regional Library; registration is required.
