Meet Jeanerpeton: The Amphibian Ancestor from Illinois
Meet Jeanerpeton mazonensis, a 309-million-year-old amphibian ancestor unearthed from Illinois' Mazon Creek fossil beds, at the Field Museum on Friday, October 23, from 11 AM to 1 PM. The fossil was only recently named, and visitors can talk directly with Cam So, PhD, the Field Museum postdoctoral research fellow who studies it. He'll explain what this ancient creature reveals about how modern amphibians evolved. The event is included with regular museum admission.
