Meet: Fritz Pollard - The Fredrick Douglass of Football – Make a Team Pennant

A workshop at Manning branch that pairs a history lesson with a hands-on craft: learn about Fritz Pollard — a Chicago-born Lane Tech grad who became the NFL's first Black head coach in 1921 — then design a felt pennant representing your favorite team, community, or idea. The program runs Monday, October 26, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM, and is family-friendly. Presented as part of the Renaissance Project at Chicago Public Library, with support from the Andrew W.
