Meet: Fritz Pollard - The Fredrick Douglass of Football – Make a Team Pennant

A workshop at Legler Regional explores the story of Fritz Pollard, a Chicago-born Lane Tech graduate who became the first African American head coach in NFL history in 1921. On Wednesday, October 7, from 6 to 7 PM, participants can design their own felt pennant representing a favorite team, community, or idea. The program is part of the Renaissance Project at Chicago Public Library, highlighting untold stories of Black history and heritage. Free and family-friendly, though registration is required.
