Meet Calvin B. Jones: Make a Mini-Mural
Artist Calvin B. Jones, whose South and West Side murals in the 1970s and 80s drew on the AfriCOBRA collective's signature "Cool-Ade" color palette, is the focus of this family workshop at the Near North branch on Sunday, November 15, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Participants explore the question "Whose murals get saved?" while learning about Jones's life and the Black Arts Movement, then create a mini-mural inspired by his bold, African print–influenced style. Part of the Renaissance Project, this hands-on program suits all ages and is free with registration.
