Meet Calvin B. Jones: Make a Mini-Mural

Artist Calvin B. Jones, whose murals appeared across Chicago's South and West sides during the Black Arts Movement, gets a family-focused spotlight at Jefferson Park. On Saturday, November 7, from 11 AM to noon, participants explore the question "Whose murals get saved?" through a guided mini-mural activity inspired by Jones's bold, AfriCOBRA-influenced "Cool-Ade colors" and African print designs. The program is part of the Chicago Public Library's Renaissance Project, drawing on archival materials from the Vivian G. Harsh Research Collection.
