Meet Calvin B. Jones: Make a Mini-Mural

A hands-on family workshop at the King branch that connects participants to the work of Calvin B. Jones, a muralist active in the Black Arts Movement and influenced by Chicago's AfriCOBRA collective. After a brief look at Jones's legacy and the question of whose murals get saved, attendees create a mini-mural using his vibrant "Cool-Ade" colors and African print designs. The program runs Tuesday, September 15, from 6 to 7 PM, as part of the Chicago Public Library's Renaissance Project. Registration is required.
