Meet a Scientist: Spider Web Microscopy
What lies inside a spider's web becomes visible at an entirely different scale during this Field Museum program. Thomas Marchese, a University of Chicago researcher, uses a Scanning Electron Microscope to reveal the microscopic contents trapped in spider silk — a chance to see what most of us walk past every day. The session runs Wednesday, November 11, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and is included with museum admission.
