Meet a Scientist: Neotropical Bats

Celebrate Bat Week at the Field Museum by spending an hour or two with two scientists who study bats in the wild. Beatriz Dybas da Natividade (a PhD candidate at UIC) and Dr. Amanda Grunwald (a postdoctoral researcher at the Field) will share stories from their field seasons in the Dominican Republic and Peru, while you examine actual bat specimens and learn about the diversity of Neotropical bats. The session runs Thursday, October 29, from 11 AM to 1 PM, and is included with general admission — a good way to turn a museum visit into a conversation with working researchers rather than just a walk through the galleries.
