Meet a Scientist: fan-Tusk-tic Dicynodonts
The Field Museum's Science Hub hosts paleontologists Ken Angielczyk and Kara Mia Ehler on Friday, August 21, from 11 AM to 1 PM for a close look at dicynodonts — ancient mammal relatives that were the first animals to evolve true tusks. Using paleohistology, the study of fossil tissues, they'll examine thin sections of dicynodont tusks under microscopes to reveal how these creatures lived, grew, and adapted some 255 million years ago. The program is included with museum admission.
