Mayan Backstrap Loom Workshop

A two-day workshop at the National Museum of Mexican Art exploring the art and cultural history of the traditional Mayan backstrap loom. Master artisan Margarita López leads participants through the foundations of this ancestral weaving technique, connecting each step to the stories and living heritage behind the craft. The workshop runs Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30, 2026. Registration is $145.
