Marquette Park Composer's Workshop at Ridge

The Marquette Park Composer’s Workshop, a quiet but serious incubator for new music developed by the Chicago Park District over the past six years, presents a gallery concert responding to the collection at the Vanderpoel Gallery. After six years and seven full-length albums, select member-composers toured the gallery, chose works that spoke to them, and wrote original suites in response. The resulting pieces will be performed live on Sunday, November 15, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Ridge Park, using the gallery’s Steinway pianos. The concert is integrated into the gallery’s celebration of John Vanderpoel’s 169th birthday.
