Many Voices, One Heart at Ping Tom

Many Voices, One Heart brings together several of Chicago’s leading Asian performing arts organizations for a single afternoon of cross-cultural musical exchange at Ping Tom Memorial Park. Indonesian gamelan, Cambodian traditional music, Japanese taiko drumming, and a fusion segment by Crossing Borders Music share a stage on Saturday, August 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM — the first time these ensembles have performed together in a Night Out in the Parks setting. The presentation is family-friendly and collaborative, highlighting the distinctions and creative intersections among Southeast and East Asian musical traditions.
