Make a Bento Tote Bag
A free workshop at the Merlo branch teaches teens 13 to 19 how to sew a Japanese-style bento bag from a single piece of fabric, covering pattern drafting, cutting, and machine sewing. Led by Compton Quashie, a local Black queer artist and educator, the session runs Tuesday, July 28, from 4 to 5 PM, and all materials are provided as part of the Chicago Public Library's Radical Fit program.
