Luminary Exhibition Celebration—Mary Cassatt: After Impressionism
The Art Institute opens its doors after hours for Luminary members only on Tuesday, November 3, for a closer look at Mary Cassatt's post-Impressionist work. Curator Annelise Madsen leads the evening, offering insights into the paintings, pastels, and prints Cassatt made in the years after the final Impressionist group show in 1886 — a period when she was the only American exhibiting with the group and was pushing her compositions in new directions. The program runs from 6 to 8 PM, beginning with a curator talk followed by an exhibition viewing and a reception with food and drinks. Registration is $60 and required in advance; entry instructions go out before the event.
