Letters to America

Letters to America invites Chicago residents aged 18+ to write personal letters reflecting on the nation at the Greater Grand Crossing venue on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This Chicago Public Library initiative commemorates the U.S. 250th anniversary by collecting stories, critiques, and hopes rooted in Chicago experiences. All letters require a Deed of Gift; sign language interpretation is available with 14 business days' notice.
