Let the Church Say Amen! - Make a Hand-Held Fan

At Woodson Regional, a workshop that digs into the Chicago Public Library’s church archives—collections documenting the history of Black religious institutions and their role in community life, activism, and social change. On Thursday, September 17, from 2 to 3 PM, participants examine artifacts and then make their own hand-held fan, a practical object that also carries cultural and historical meaning. The program is part of the Renaissance Project and is free to attend.
