Kalapriya's 4th Annual Mela
More than a festival, Kalapriya’s Summer Mela is an invitation to experience the many cultures, histories, and traditions that shape South Asia. Designed as a welcoming space for cultural exchange, the Mela encourages curiosity, conversation, & connection among neighbors from all backgrounds.
Throughout the day, guests will have opportunities to learn about the countries, communities, and artistic traditions that make South Asia one of the most diverse regions in the world. Through storytelling, cultural demonstrations, educational exhibits, and community engagement, the festival creates meaningful opportunities to deepen understanding and appreciation of the region’s rich heritage.
The Mela also highlights the contributions of local artists, cultural organizations, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who help preserve and share these traditions in Chicago and beyond. Whether you have deep roots in South Asia or are exploring its cultures for the first time, you’ll find opportunities to connect, discover, and celebrate alongside thousands of fellow attendees.
