Ka-thunk! We Can Prevent Bird Collisions
At the Field Museum on Friday, November 6, from 11 AM to 1 PM, visitors can meet two researchers working on a problem that kills hundreds of millions of birds in North America each year: window collisions. Adrian Gall of ABR, Inc. and Bryan Lenz of the American Bird Conservancy explain how they study nocturnal bird movements, what makes glass and light so dangerous, and what homeowners and offices can actually do — adjusting lighting, treating windows, rescuing downed birds — to make a difference. The talk is included with museum admission.
