ISAC Exhibit Lecture: Great King Hartapu and Beyond

The ISAC Museum presents a deep-dive lecture on Great King Hartapu, an elusive Anatolian ruler whose profile changed dramatically with a 2019 inscription discovery. James Osborne, the exhibit's curator and director of the ongoing Türkmen-Karahöyük Archaeological Project, shares findings from the first three seasons, explaining how the new evidence places Hartapu's conquest of Phrygia and 13 other kingdoms within the Iron Age cultural landscape. The talk on Wednesday, September 30, from 7 to 9 PM is free and offered both in-person at 1155 East 58th Street and online via livestream, followed by a chance to view the exhibition and attend a light reception.
