Introduction to Bookbinding

Regin Igloria, a visual artist who has led Community Binding workshops across the Chicago area since 2010, teaches bookbinding fundamentals in a collaborative outdoor setting at Brighton Park. The session on Tuesday, July 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM covers hand-sewn pamphlets and zines, with prompts to build content inside the books and instructional handouts to take home. Participants leave with several handmade books and contribute to an ongoing community archiving project. Registration is required; requests for sign language interpretation or other accessibility accommodations must be made at least 14 business days in advance.
