Inspiration from the Archives with avery r. young

A two-session archival-research workshop and writing intensive with avery r. young, Chicago's inaugural Poet Laureate, at the Manning branch on Monday, November 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The first half introduces participants to navigating the Vivian G. Harsh Research Collection, led by a CPL archivist; the second is a writing workshop exploring how archival materials can fuel creative work. Attendance is required at both sessions. Presented as part of the Renaissance Project, a Mellon Foundation initiative to digitize and activate CPL's archives. Registration required.
