Join a local TreeKeeper to talk about tree care, and why it matters! We will discuss basics of tree biology and systems: how trees live, how trees decline, how they die, as well as common stressors for our trees and some of the best practices recommend for tree care. We'll also scale out and take a look at the bigger picture of urban forestry health and what it means to think like a forest. Participants will learn about what we as individuals and as a community can do to help care for trees in our yards and our neighborhood and the importance of our stewardship of trees.

Openlands TreeKeepers are a group of volunteer urban forest stewards that advocate for the overall health and care of trees in the Chicago Region. The Urban Forestry Programming at Sulzer Library is proudly supported and funded by Openlands .
