Hoop Dancing with Starr Chief Eagle at Shedd
Starr Chief Eagle brings an interactive performance and cultural presentation to Shedd (John G.) Park on Friday evening, September 18, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Rooted in Lakota tradition, the program explores language, art, and knowledge through storytelling and the rare practice of Hoop Dancing — Chief Eagle works with up to 22 hoops to form shapes, designs, and creatures that carry narrative meaning. Audience members can participate in hands-on activities, and volunteers from the crowd may be invited to join the hoop dance itself.
